The Network Computing Services (NCS) division of BC Hydro develops, operates and supports the computing infrastructure for BC Hydro and its approximately 5,500 desktop computers and users across the province. When it needed to re-position and strengthen its image with its internal customers and increase the effectiveness of its marketing communications, NCS contracted with Strategic Initiatives to develop and deliver an integrated marketing communications plan.
Cathy worked with NCS’ Business Services department to identify the appropriate customers / target audiences, then conducted a series of focus groups with customers to: determine their perceptions of NCS; determine their level of awareness and understanding of the products and services NCS provides; identify current and emerging customer needs; and determine how best to communicate with them. Cathy developed a detailed marketing communications plan including: Objectives, Strategies, Positioning, Communications Messages, Implementation Plan and an Evaluation Plan.
